Who We Are and Why We Do This
THE REASON IS YOU
“I promise you that rock bottom can be a blessing in disguise. It is a time of radical honesty, accountability, and no more excuses. It is when you decide that your life is yours alone to create. Rock bottom is your turning point. This is your time of reckoning, when you confront yourself and realize you are where you are because you allowed yourself to be. This is your hiatus from the pain that has held you captive, and a chance to finally deal with a lifestyle that is destroying you. Find the beauty in your suffering, grow, discover, change, and, like the caterpillar, transform into who you are meant to be. You may not be responsible for everything that happened to you, but you are responsible now for the rest of your life. And then, at the moment of truth, when you take your power back, you create a whole new life like you never imagined”. Velinda

Who am I… Jenna and Brandon’s mom, a spiritual entrepreneur, philanthropist, animal and nature lover, author, and speaker with a background in financial consulting. My passion is turning my past experiences, wisdom, and over 25 years of intense research into a platform for helping people through my websites, presentations, and books.
I wrote and published my first book, “This River Called Life,” which won an IndieReader award, in 2012. I started my first website, Positive Thoughts on Life, in 2010 and have since expanded to include two additional websites, on which I post to inspire insight, personal growth, and transformation, and encourage starting over.
Why I do this…I am dedicated to making this world a better place by writing about change and recreating new life after adversity and trauma. I do this because I know that no one has to suffer and live in lack, regardless of their past, how long it may have lasted, or what their current circumstances are. It is my own past and experience that drives me to this purpose. There is no better teacher and no replacement for experience.

Brandon’s sister…Christian, intuitive therapist, life coach, business manager, student, leadership mentor, volunteer, and photographer. Sensitive, empathic, spiritual teacher and healer. Inspiring writer, soul-survivor, beloved sister, daughter, pet mother, and friend. Why I do this: By taking my greatest hang-ups, hurts, and pain, and turning them into good. By sharing my story in hopes of inspiring someone who may also be experiencing pain, so they have someone to relate to, knowing they aren’t alone. This is only one part of fulfilling my life’s purpose.
